Amy & Stewart

April 8, 2023

Amy said she’s not sure if love at first sight is real, but when she first met Stewart - it was pretty close! Stewart and Amy met at Sloss Fest in the summer of 2017. Through their collective love of music, dancing, Budweiser, and pizza, there was instant chemistry, and they knew that their love story had just begun! While dating long distance for two years, their love was cultivated in Birmingham through dates at Railroad Park, local music shows, hiking and fishing at the state parks, and where they eventually said, "I Do." With family and friends traveling from all over the country, they knew they wanted a weekend-long celebration to show off their favorite places in Birmingham while keeping true to their personalities and style. This included a whole-hog BBQ welcome party at Back Forty Brewery with Sloss Furnace as the backdrop and hosting their ceremony and reception at the adorned Clubhouse on Highland. This venue was the perfect space for an intimate and unique wedding celebration while showcasing the neighborhood where they previously walked their dogs, went on coffee dates, and hung out with friends. We asked them what their favorite part of their wedding was and they said, “The intimate ceremony hosted inside amongst our close family and friends was our favorite part. While inclement weather changed a few of our plans, it ended up being better than we expected and beyond anything we could have asked for! You could feel the love, positivity, and support for our special union. There wasn't a dry eye in the room, and we will never forget the love we felt!"

The best advice I can give is to surround yourself with people that you can rely on, and that will support you with calming love. HAVE A WEDDING DAY COORDINATOR and trust their advice. They are your team players and will work hard to ensure your effort pays off. The ladies at Engaged are miracle workers and have the best reputation in the industry for a reason. Lastly, I would encourage the bride and groom not to leave each other’s side during the reception and to carve out time for just the two of them. That proved to be the best and most impactful advice for us. It allowed us not to feel rushed or pulled in multiple directions, gave us some amazing pictures and memories we shared together, and while we wanted our guests to have the best night of celebrating, it kept us centered and our union at the forefront of every move we made.
