Real Engaged Wedding

If you have ever dreamed of having a fall wedding, look no further for inspiration. On November 14th, 2020 Kelly & John said “I do” and danced the night away at Clubhouse on Highland. Jewel toned details, a black and white checkered dance floor, and trolley rides made for all the good times for Mr. & Mrs. Bland’s big day! These two met back in 2016 at John’s sister’s wedding. Kelly was a bridesmaid and John was a groomsman. While John lived in Atlanta and Kelly lived in Birmingham, the couple did long distance for two years. Eventually, John moved to Birmingham to be closer to Kelly. In December of 2019, he got down on one knee. You know her answer. The rest is history!

When the happy couple had to decrease their guest count due to COVID-19, they handled it with such ease and grace. Clubhouse on Highland was the perfect space to host seventy-five of their closest friends and family! Kelly also made the decision to add a tent out back to make guests feel more comfortable in open air. The weather was perfect and the dance floor was never empty. John, an Auburn University graduate, knew it was a must to have Kenny on the Keys at their reception! Planning with Kelly was such a pleasure. She showed up to every appointment with her Engaged Handbook in hand, always ready to discuss the next steps, but most of all, she trusted us to recommend incredible vendors that fit her taste, style, and budget. Thank you Kelly & John for allowing us to be a small part of your big day. We love the Bland’s!

“I loved every aspect of wedding planning! The Engaged Girls kept us right on track throughout the planning process and helped us choose the wedding vendors who would be perfect for our big day. My advice to other couples is—Decide what’s most important to you for your wedding day, and stick to it - whether that be the guest count, choice in venue, etc. Also, try not to worry too much about what other people think or have done for their weddings! It’s your day!

So many friends and family told me to just take it all in because it really is the best day ever—and they were right. Enjoy every moment with your friends and family because they are there for you! Due to Covid, we had to make some changes to our original plans, but it truly worked out perfectly. We even had a friend live-stream the ceremony and parts of the reception so more of our family and friends could be a part of the day. All of our wedding vendors were phenomenal! The florals, our photographer, the venue, the food, the music, the Engaged Girls...I could go on! Everything was perfect!”
