Ruth Allison and Scott met at UAB when he was in residency and she was an ICU nurse. They shared mutual friends and decided to go on their first date at the MICU work Christmas party that was at Carrigan’s (which is where they ended up having their rehearsal dinner!). Their next date was to a Birmingham Bulls hockey game and they have been inseparable since then! Their wedding day was filled with laughter and love, including lots of fun moments between the lovebirds. Some fun details of the day included a guest book consisting of records (for this music loving duo), life-size marquee letters as a surprise to the bride and a fun band to dance the night away to!

When they are not at the hospital or working in clinic, they both love a good karaoke night, playing a range of instruments in their music room, cooking together, spending time at the lake, and going on hikes/pretty much any outdoor activities. When asked what their favorite part of their wedding day was they said, “Our first look, the private vows, and how much quality time we spent together on our wedding day. We truly enjoyed every minute of that day!” They are now settled into their new home in Carrollton, GA.

“My advice is to definitely do a first look. We felt like we were together for most of the day and the whole day is centered around the both of you so that is the best way to enjoy it, in my opinion! Have an open mind and find a way to enjoy the process of planning. The weekend will go by fast, but I tried to take a moment and soak it all in throughout the weekend which made it even more memorable! Remember that at the end of the day, the most important thing is to be married to your person and everything else is just an added bonus! The thing my guest remembered the most was the live band and how much fun the bride and groom were having on the dance floor! It’s your day so go out and have fun with it! ”
