Payton and Amber met eight years ago at a fraternity "paint rave” party during her freshman year at Auburn. He asked her to dance and they danced together the whole night, until she thought her friends were leaving so she quickly said goodbye and was disappointed that he never got her number. A little while later, her friend group had to go back for something and she found him looking for her; he not only got her number, but asked her to go to the football game with him the next day. After that first date, they never looked back and have been together ever since! Last year they moved to Baton Rouge for Payton’s residency at LSU as an Emergency Medicine physician and Amber is currently working in home health as an Occupational Therapist. Their favorite part of their wedding was officially starting their life together by having all of the people they love in one place and dancing the night away!

“Honestly, the best advice I got when I began planning our wedding was to join the Engaged Wedding Library and now that’s the first advice I give anyone getting married! I love that Engaged helps take a lot of the stress out of wedding planning by helping you choose the best vendors within your budget, and it is so affordable, it more than pays for itself! Besides that, my biggest advice would be to choose the 2-3 things that are the most important to you, whether that be venue, photography/videography, etc. and spend the most of your budget on those vendors. With that being said, think about what YOU truly want your wedding to look and feel like. It is your day, so enjoy it however you want to, and don’t feel like you have to do anything a certain way just because others expect it or because of tradition!”
